About
Built by a studio that ships for serious operators.
Loqua Labs is a product of RSE Labs, a UK software studio. We build things for people who need their software to actually work.
Why this exists
The first version of Loqua was a frustrated conversation. A D2C operations lead at a mid-sized UK retail group described the daily pain of managing translations across their international Shopify stores. Their app was generic. Their mega menu read "Les Fans" in French, instead of "Les Ventilateurs." Launching a new region meant hand-correcting every string. Editing source content meant playing whack-a-mole across every locale.
The conversation made it clear that this is not an edge case. Most apps in this category use generic machine translation behind a thin AI-tier veneer, because the underlying economics force the fallback. Brands that take their voice seriously end up either accepting the drift, or hiring agencies and managing the whole thing in spreadsheets.
Loqua exists because there is a cleaner way: every translation through Claude, with the brand context attached, and translation memory so the costs amortise as the store grows.
Who's behind it
Loqua is built by RSE Labs, a software studio working with a small portfolio of clients in retail, voice technology, computer vision, and healthcare. Our other products include MarginGuard for Shopify-to-Mirakl dynamic pricing, and a set of voice training platforms for client operators.
The studio takes a small number of projects at a time and builds them properly. Loqua follows the same philosophy. We'd rather work with three brands deeply than three hundred superficially.
The philosophy
Software either works for serious operators or it doesn't. Clean uninstall on day one. No surprise plan upgrades, ever. Cooperate with the platform you live on, in our case Shopify Markets, rather than fighting it. Be honest about what's possible and what isn't.
That's our standard for everything we ship. Loqua holds to it.
